Earl’s mother and sister live and work about an hour away. They both enjoy visiting and spending the weekend at our home. His mother is excited by the thought of being a grandmother. Earl also has a brother and sister on his father’s side. We love when they bring his young niece and nephew over to visit. It’s going to be wonderful having children of our own and them having cousins close in age living not too far away.

Sean’s mother is retired and she doesn’t miss a week asking “How’s the adoption coming?” She simply cannot wait to babysit and to be the loving, doting grandmother that Sean’s was to him. Sean’s younger brother, an artist, lives with their mother and looks forward to being an uncle soon. Sean also has a brother and sister through his father’s second marriage.

When the day comes for us to be parents, we hope to raise our children with the same foundation, with the same messages and morals our parents instilled in us.
